Foundation History
50 Years of Impact
1975 - Present
Humble Beginnings
The history of the Sebabratee Foundation is deeply intertwined with the evolution of the Sebabratee movement, which began in 1975. Over decades of dedicated service and human development, the need for a structured social wing became evident.
The Foundation of Rules and Structure:
A pivotal moment in our history occurred at the National Headquarters of Bangladesh Scouts, Shams Hall. During a Special Annual General Meeting (AGM), the core constitutional document of our organization, "Our Rules" (আমাদের নিয়ম), was officially approved and adopted. This historic event provided the legal and ethical framework that governs the Sebabratee movement today.
The Spark of Learning (2001):
The year 2001 marked a revolutionary step with the First Level One Training of the Sebabratee Movement. Held at the residence of Mu: Tohidul Islam’s in-laws on Central Road, Dhaka, this event is remembered as an exciting, amazing, and deeply inspiring milestone. It laid the educational foundation for our members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and leadership.
Formalization and Growth:
While the social activities were ongoing for years, the Sebabratee Foundation was formally structured as a non-political, community-based social entrepreneurship. It received its official registration under the Societies Registration Act (No. S-12629/2017) on May 11, 2017. Under the leadership of dedicated members like Ferdaus Ahmad, Ali Ahad Dipu, Abdullah Al Mamun and Minhazul Alam, the Foundation transitioned from local initiatives to a national entity, focusing on youth development, humanitarian aid, and social research.
